About Us
Trip Kailash arranges sacred pilgrimages across Nepal, Tibet and India. We operate from Kathmandu, and we organise journeys along three deity paths: the Shiva yatras, the Vishnu yatras, and the Devi yatras of the Mother Goddess.
What we do
We take pilgrims to Mount Kailash and Lake Mansarovar, to Muktinath, to Gosaikunda, to Haleshi, and to Kedarnath. Some of these are walked. Some are reached by helicopter. All of them are pilgrimages first and trips second, and we plan them that way.
That means the ritual matters as much as the itinerary. Where a route has an observance attached to it, whether that is a bath, a parikrama, or a darshan at a particular hour, we build the day around it rather than around the driving time.
How we work
- Small groups. Most of our departures run between two and fifteen people, so the pace can follow the group rather than a coach timetable.
- Guides who know the sites. Not only the trail, but what is being observed at it and why.
- Comfort where it counts. Hotels and tea houses chosen for rest and acclimatisation, not for a star rating.
- Honest altitude planning. Several of these routes cross above 4,000m. We build in acclimatisation and we will tell you plainly if a schedule is too aggressive for your group.
Where we are
Our office is in Kathmandu, Nepal, which is the staging point for most of the routes we run. It is also where the paperwork happens: Tibet travel permits, restricted-area permits, and the arrangements that have to be made weeks before anyone boards a flight.
We are licensed under IATA number TK92456.
Talk to us
If you are weighing up a yatra, the most useful thing you can do is tell us your dates, your group, and which path calls you. Write to namaste@tripkailash.com, or see our contact page for everything worth including in a first message.
